Free resources aren’t valued enough
There’s just so many resources to learn anything on the Internet.
There exists free resources yet people opt for paid resources. Why?
The main reason why people purchase any paid resource is mainly because they do not value the already existing free resource enough. We automatically tend to assume for a fact that free courses might not be “good enough” until we get recommended of some good resource of any sort.
I feel, it takes a certain level of drive and enthusiasm to get something done and when someone puts in their money into something their natural tendency would be to make full use of it even if that doesn’t add the level of value one expected from the same. People optimise for “Trust”, which is the reason why people buy courses of creators without giving it a second thought.
As a student, I don’t have the money to purchase courses, softwares and books of my liking. So, the conventional path which I, like many other students would take is to get the pirated copy of the resource I want to get hold of. But at the end it all comes down to “how important” and “urgent” it is to get that done. You don’t pay for any course, you just pay for your perception of how much you think it’s worth. (unless you are a student who is broke)
